Town of Erin appoints director of community services

ERIN – The Town of Erin has appointed Jennifer McPetrie to the position of director of community services, effective Oct. 7.

McPetrie brings over 20 years of experience in the recreation field, having made significant contributions across a wide range of program areas and facility management, town officials say. 

McPetrie has managed various recreation facilities, including fitness centres, arenas and pools.

She most recently served at the Town of Oakville as senior manager, recreation planning and development, where she played a role in developing and managing community recreational spaces, including overseeing the successful opening of the newly constructed Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre. 

Prior to her tenure with Oakville, she dedicated over 13 years to the Town of Milton, where she worked in recreational programming.

As our director of community services, McPetrie will provide overall direction, management and administration to the community services department, including parks and recreation, facilities, and cultural services. 

Her responsibilities will include developing, managing and supporting strategies, plans, budget coordination, and administration plans, ensuring efficient staffing, budgets, strategic planning, and legislative compliance.
