ERIN – The Town of Erin has taken precautions in light of the outbreak of COVID-19, but in most areas, it’s business as usual.
The town has increased cleaning and disinfecting high-touch areas such as door handles, customer service counters and handrails and has posted posters with information about how to reduce transmission of the virus.
Residents will also see more hand sanitizer stations in town facilities.
As well, face masks can be available at town facilities and Town Hall for those who want them.
“Tuesday’s [council meeting] will proceed,” stated Jessica Spina, communications officer for the town, in an email.
“Members of the public are encouraged to watch the meeting via livestream on our website if they do not want to attend the meeting in person.”
She added recreation facilities will remain open, which is good news during March Break.
As in other municipalities, the Town of Erin is asking the public to stay out of public facilities if they are feeling unwell and if they have travelled internationally to any of the coronavirus ‘hot spots’ such as China, Hong Kong, Iran and Italy or have been on a cruise ship in the past 14 days.
