Minto council has signed the sales agreement with Wellington County OPP for the purchase of township land near here for the construction of a new OPP station.
The purchase price was $180,000 – which council has already committed to recreation projects within the municipality.
“All the pieces are put together so we can sign the deal,” chief administrative officer Bill White told council at its June 18 meeting.
The official closing date will be Sept. 11 after the minor soccer season ends. The soccer club currently plays games on the property.
White said the soccer club has agreed to relocating to another pitch.
