Tour de Elora 10 for 10 fundraiser to run through month of October

ELORA – The third annual Tour de Elora 10 for 10 fundraiser begins on Oct. 1.

The goal is to collectively log 10,000 kilometres through biking, walking or running and raise $10,000 to support the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.

The Centre Wellington 100 Women Who Care have donated $6,000 to jump start the donations in support of the Tour de Elora.

A cheque presentation with the CW 100 Women Who Care, Tour de Elora organizers and Grand River Hospital Foundation was held Sept. 27 at the Elora Fitness & Performance Centre.

To participate, each time you bike/walk/run from Oct, 1 to 30, log the number of kilometres you completed through the Tour de Elora website.

Individual kilometres will be added to the group goal of 10,000 kilometres. Prizes will be awarded to the individual who logs the most kilometres.

Encourage your friends and family to support you by making a donation online to support the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre. Organizers ask participants aim to raise at least $100 in donations.

The closing ceremony will be held Sunday Oct. 31 from 11am to 2pm at the Elora Fitness and Performance Centre and will include a barbecue, raffle prizes and award ceremony.
