GUELPH – “There’s no place like home.” That’s the theme of the Guelph Humane Society’s upcoming fundraiser, Happy Tails Gala on Nov. 2 at the Delta Hotels Guelph Conference Centre.
It will include music, characters, and performers inspired by the “wonderful land of Oz,” organizers state. People can also expect to see animals in the GHS’s care.
GHS executive director Lisa Veit said “the support we receive from this event is essential.”
Funds raised support veterinary care, a wildlife program, farm animal rehoming initiatives and the GHS Cares Program, which provides emergency short- or long-term sheltering for pets belonging to vulnerable community members and no-cost boarding for pets of women fleeing domestic violence.
The evening will include a three-course dinner, auctions and games.
Tickets for the formal or costume dress event are $150 per person.
