Sensational Elora, A Festival of the Senses tickets went on sale on Aug. 24.
From the opening night gala Oct. 3 featuring Katalin Kiss and John McKinney and their band, with food catered by chef Drew Renelt to the closing Soup-Off on Thanksgiving, where “empty bowls” are filled by chefs vying to win the title of Super Souper, the ten-day event will tickle every sense.
The Film on a Plate series features food-related movies paired with matching food and beverages.
There are a variety of other interesting takes on food experience including: The Moveable Feast – progressive dining through some restaurants of Elora; Foraging with Bling – a limo ride ending in a wine-paired dinner; Races with Taste, where fine food and cooking demonstrations are paired with watching horse races; to a dinner and evening with internationally-acclaimed playwright David S. Craig, who will regale his diners with tales of being a Canadian artist.
There are a host of events for families, such as The Sensational (amazing) Race, a visit with the Curly Horses, the pumpkin-judging contest featuring a concert by the Funky Mamas, and an all-day Sensational Kids Film Fest.
Once again, Sensational Elora will support the empty bowls and glasses campaign with all proceeds going directly to the Centre Wellington Food Bank. Last year, $12,560 was raised and the goal this year is to better that.
