Three teens charged with damaging a park sign here will have to clean up the park and offer an apology for the vandalism.
On May 15, Wellington County OPP received a report of a mischief at Lions Park in Mount Forest.
Police say that sometime the previous day someone caused about $1,000 damage to the William Mooney Memorial Park sign.
Police announced on June 13 that with help from the public, they had concluded the investigation and charged three youths.
The individuals, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), “are being held accountable,” police say.
“The youth took responsibility for their actions and as a result they were charged using ‘diversionary measures’ as per YCJA legislation,” police stated in a press release. “Each will be contributing to the cleanup of the park and provide a letter of apology to the Lions Club.”
