On Sept. 27, at about 5:50pm Wellington County OPP officers received a report of a two vehicle collision at Wellington Road 9 and Wellington Road 8 here.
Officers responded along with Mapleton Fire and Rescue and Town of Minto Fire Department.
Police say a 2008 grey Hyundai Sonata travelling southbound on Wellington Road 9 collided with beige 2014 Dodge Caravan that was travelling eastbound on Wellington Road 8. The driver of the Hyundai and three passengers were transported to a local hospital by land ambulance. The driver and two passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries while one passenger was subsequently airlifted to a Hamilton hospital with life threatening injuries.
The 46-year-old male driver of the Caravan was transported by land ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Members from the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Team attended the scene. The cause of the crash was listed as under investigation.
