Three-goal third gives Drayton 5-1 win

DRAYTON 5 – LISTOWEL 1

Three unanswered goals in the third period gave Drayton a solid victory over Listowel.

Drayton scored two goal in the first to set the stage. Brent Mulder and Colton Hoekstra scored to start things off, assisted by Scott Niuewland, Dave Mulder and Brent Mulder.

Listowel shut down the Drayton offence in the second. Brad Gratz earned the only Listowel point with an unassisted goal midway through the period.

Three unanswered goals in the third put the game away for Drayton. The goals were secured by Brandon Rumph, and a pair by Eric Deckers. All three goals were set up by Jason Mohle, with Aaron Keunen also earning an assist.

FLORADALE 7 – MISSIONARY 0

An overpowering offence gave Floradale an indisputable shutout thrashing. Owning all three periods, it was the five goals scored in the third that accentuated the victory.

Clinton Dechert led the charge with a pair of goals. Braeden Gingerich and Corey Wideman each scored a goal and assisted on one. The other goals were supplied by Ryan Weber, Greg Martin, and Ryan Martin.

It was the Martins setting up most of the goals. Nick Martin had two assists. Single assists were earned by Andrew, Gary and Willis Martin.

Derek Wideman played reliever in net for Floradale, turning back 20 shots for the shutout.

COMMUNITY 5 – BETHEL 0

Although the first period remained scoreless, Community turned on the jets in the second for three goals and added another pair in the third.

Tony Martin scored two of the five goals. Ryco Martin; Kyle Wideman and Graham Wideman each ended the game with one goal and an assist.

Kevin Gingrich earned a pair of assists, with single assists awarded to Lamar Martin, John Horst and Gerald Martin.

Chris Stevens had a fairly easy night in net, facing only eleven shots to earn the shutout.
