An exciting new three-part concert series will launch at the Guelph Youth Music Centre (GYMC) on Feb. 7 at 3pm with Internationally-celebrated piano duo Anagnoson and Kinton.
With close to four decades and more than 1,000 performances together, James Anagnoson and Leslie Kinton are recognized as one of the world’s finest piano duos. They have nine acclaimed recordings, including a special release titled Stages, which celebrated their 30th season.
“What a treat for Guelph music lovers to enjoy this world renowned duo in the intimate setting of the Recital Hall of the Guelph Youth Music Centre. An added bonus: there is no need to drive to Toronto,”commented Gail Lange, organizer of the Anagnoson and Kinton concert at the GYMC.
The piano concert will feature the following pieces:
– Anton Arensky, Suite No. 1, Op. 15;
– Johannes Brahms, Variations on a theme of Haydn, Op. 56b; and
– Sergei Rachmaninoff, Suite No. 2, Op. 17.
The concert series will continue on March 22 at 3pm with a concert featuring David Gillham and Ken Gee.
Audiences will finish the three-part series on May 31 at 7:30pm with the Estonian National Male Choir, who are the largest full-time professional male choir in the world.
