Three Brampton men charged after OPP cruiser rammed

PUSLINCH – Three Brampton men face numerous charges after a stolen vehicle rammed into a cruiser in an attempt to evade police.

On Dec. 12, Wellington County OPP were informed a vehicle stolen from Mississauga was in the area of Brock Road South near Nicholas Beaver Road southeast of Aberfoyle.

Police say officers converged on the area and observed the grey, four-door sedan parked at a gas station on Brock Road with the engine running and occupants inside of it.

“In an effort to preserve public safety, officers attempted to prevent the vehicle from exiting the parking lot,” police stated in a press release.

“The driver of the vehicle accelerated at a high rate of speed in an attempt to leave the parking lot and collided with a police vehicle.”

The three male occupants were taken into custody and police seized suspected drugs and break-in tools.

Chamkaur Singh Sidhu, 33, Pushpinder Dhillon, 27, and Mandeep Gill, 27, all of Brampton, were charged with:

– possession of property obtained by a crime (both over and under $5,000):

– possession of break-in instruments;

– possession of methamphetamine; and

– possession of heroin.

Sidhu is charged with flight from a peace officer, dangerous driving and two counts of failing to comply with  a recognizance.

Dhillon is additionally charged with failing to comply with  a recognizance.

Gill faces an additional heroin charge.

The men were held for bail hearings.
