The Ontario Masters Lacrosse Association is hosting a tournament at the Centre Wellington Sportsplex, July 14 to 16.
The 25 junior and senior teams from all over Ontario will be competing in four games over the weekend.
The home team, the Fergus Thistles Jr. Masters, will be taking on 11 other junior teams.
There are four tournaments in the league’s season with the provincial championship scheduled for September.
Teams must play three of the four tournaments. This is the last tournament for the Thistles before heading to provincials at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre.
This is the Thistles’ third season. All players are 21 and over and many have played minor lacrosse in the area.
Team official Laura Murray said the league gives former lacrosse players a place to play the game.
“This makes for a perfect setup for guys who have to work in the summer for school, or have families and jobs that they need to balance while not losing the game they love,” she said.
Opening ceremonies start at 6pm on Friday.
