DRAYTON – The Drayton Farm Show is now less than a week away.
The show, hosted annually by the Drayton Kinsmen, will celebrate its 27th year on April 2 and 3 at the PMD Arena.
The Farm Show is open to the public from 11am to 10pm. Admission to the show is again just $3, with one dollar of every admission going to cystic fibrosis research as well as to various Kinsmen projects throughout the year.
Rural Ontario’s
Agribusiness Showcase
Thanks to continued community support, the Drayton Farm Show has steadily grown over the years.
This year’s show will feature over 90 Exhibitors representing a wide range of products and services. While the primary emphasis is on all things related to agriculture and farming, there are also plenty of great displays and information for people from all walks of life.
Because the annual show is well established and attendance has been excellent over the years, exhibitor turnover is very limited.
Normally there may be just one or two spaces available for new exhibitors on a first come first serve basis.
Banquet
Each year a feature of the event is a banquet held just prior to the farm show. This year, on April 1 from 6pm to 9pm at the arena, the Kinsmen will be offering a half-chicken dinner for only $12.
Tickets are available in advance in Mapleton Township at Nieuwland Feeds, FS Partners Co-op, Dobben’s True Value Hardware, and Marlie’s Kitchen, or or at the door while supplies last.
For more information about the banquet, call Gary VanAnkum at 519-638-3240.
Toy tractor
As a special feature, the Drayton Farm Show has a different toy tractor available as a collectible souvenir for each annual show.
The 2008 tractor is a John Deere 6030, 1/16 scale, which has a radio, tool-box, duallies, fender lights, levers, slow moving vehicle sign, and tons of painted parts. It comes with a custom show box and show decal.
The tractors, which cost $100 each, can be ordered by contacting tractor chairman Gary Becker at 519-638-3203 or by mail at RR#1 Moorefield, ON, NOG 2KO (order forms are available online).
