Third Age Learning Guelph is a non-profit organization providing learning opportunities for seniors.
There are two series of eight lectures this winter. The speakers are excellent and the question and answer period is very popular.
The morning series, 10am-noon, is on moral and ethical dilemmas: choices facing Canadians. Being capable of making responsible choices is not always easy.
This series begins with a lecture on how morals and ethics evolve and change over time. The series then looks at topics such as the right to die, prison reform, trust within society, income inequality and aboriginal rights.
The afternoon series 1:30pm to 3:30 is on planet earth: how are we doing as stewards.
As a recent protest poster stated: there is no planet “B”. This series looks at the impact of human actions on the planet from ocean warming to climate change, access to water to world food security, as well as how we cope with man-made and natural disasters and pandemics. The series runs Jan. 14 to March 4 and costs $42 for each am and pm series.
The series will be held at the University of Guelph Arboretum auditorium.
