Think tank business summit coming to Caledon Oct. 20

The Small Business Summit “Think Global/Source Local” business event is coming to Caledon on Oct. 20, at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness.

Designed to drive business growth, knowledge and sourcing for small business owners/managers and entrepreneurs across the GTA key rim communities, the Small Business Summit will be a “game-changer” for both visitors and suppliers.

“The Town of Caledon is proud to participate in the 2016 Small Business Summit,” said Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson.

The 2016 Small Business Summit features globally renowned speakers including:

– “America’s Business Expert” Bill Walsh of Powerteam International;

– Lance Secretan, a global leadership teacher from The Secretan Centre; and

– Dragon’s Den success story Claudia Harvey, Founder of On the Verge.

After hearing from these and other keynote business speakers, complete the visit by walking the trade show floor.

“Small businesses are now using up to eight different media channels (traditional and digital) to promote themselves,” says founder and CEO Jesse Guild of Blitzen.

“You’d think that local marketers would be more focused on measuring their ROI to determine which channels are working, but the majority of SMBs aren’t using any tools to track the impact of their marketing.”

In addition to the line up of global speakers, the Small Business Summit will offer a focus on “Green Business Opportunities.”

Hydro One and Enbridge will be on hand to share insights on sustainability, green business practices and will be joined by regional and local business suppliers and services.

Additionally, the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises (OSME) will be available to answer your questions about: “the Government of Canada’s commitment to a procurement system open to small and medium and regionally based businesses.”

Ticket prices are $30 online will be available at the door for $35.

Don’t miss the Business Achievement Awards and Show Preview reception on Oct. 19. This special evening will honor local business enterprise success stories. A separate ticket is required for the business achievement awards and reception and are available for $25 by contacting Lauren at admin@thesmallbusinesssummit.ca.
