On Oct. 29 Wellington County OPP received numerous complaints from Rockwood residents about vehicles being entered overnight and items stolen.
Police say 11 vehicles were entered, three of which were reported as locked. Police want to remind vehicle owners that thefts from vehicles are a crime of opportunity.
“An unlocked vehicle door or an open window is an invitation to thieves, and keeping valuables out of view could prevent a theft from occurring,” police say.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding these crimes, to contact them at 1-888-310-1122. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or submit a tip on-line at www.csgw.tips.
