HARRISTON – The Grey Wellington Theatre has issued an open casting call for Anne of Green Gables – The Musical.
Casting for the major musical production, the centrepiece of the guild’s 50th anniversary season, is set for June 25 at the Harriston Town Hall Theatre.
The show, which will run for 10 performances between Nov. 22 and Dec. 2, includes roles for actors ranging from 12-years-old to seniors.
Auditions for youth 16 and under will begin at 7pm and auditions for those 17 and over will begin at 8pm. Auditions are open to all.
Actors may present a prepared monologue or read from a book and should also be prepared to sing in a group and sing a song of their choice.
“We’re very pleased to be presenting this classic Canadian show, which is sure to entertain audiences of all ages. Being a part of a cast like this will be a great experience for everyone involved,” said director Peggy Raftis.
In celebration of the 50th anniversary the guild is also hosting a dinner theatre cabaret gala evening on Sept. 7. Auditions for this musical show will be included on June 25 along with the Anne of Green Gables auditions.
