DRAYTON – Staff at the Drayton Festival Theatre are preparing for the arrival of many professional artists this summer – all of whom will need a place to stay during their engagement at the theatre.
With over 100 people in need of accommodation this year, including performers, musicians, directors, stage managers, and production crew, the theatre company relies on the community’s support in order to find everyone a place to stay.
“Our accommodation partners generously open their homes to our actors and creative staff. It is a wonderful experience for the homeowner, as well as the artist,” theatre officials state in a press release.
Accomodation rate
The average accommodation rate is approximately $120 per week – with certain amenities that must be included, such as cooking and washroom facilities. Most productions run for three or four weeks.
“If you have an empty room in your home, a private apartment, basement suite, or a cottage that is available for a period during the summer, becoming a housing partner is a great way to support the arts in your community. We truly could not produce the calibre of productions that our patrons have come to expect without the support of our community in Drayton,” officials state.
