On April 26, the show Spin came to the Fergus Grand Theatre. It was the fifth installment of the Her series, presented by theatre coordinator Eric Goudie. Spin is part documentary and part music, conveying the story of Annie Londonderry, who was the first woman to ride around the world in a bicycle in 1895 on a dare and a bet. The highlight of the performance was a bicycle on stage that was used as a percussion instrument, played by Brad Hart. Evelyn Parry demonstrated how the invention of the bicycle changed history, influenced fashion and provided a new measure of freedom for women. Photo by Bill Longshaw
