Two Guelph men face multiple charges after taking a vehicle for a test drive and then failing to return it.
On Jan. 2, Wellington County OPP was called in regard to two men who failed to return a vehicle to the seller’s house.
By the time officers arrived the two men had returned with the vehicle, but police say, “the vehicle that the males had initially driven to the complainant’s residence, bore two different Ontario licence plates, neither of which [belonged on] that vehicle.”
Joseph Evans, 24, of Guelph, was charged with driving without a licence, driving without insurance, obstructing a peace officer, two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, two counts of using an unauthorized plate and five counts of failing to apply for a permit on becoming owner.
Robert Anderson, 42, of Guelph, was charged with personation with intent (identity fraud), obstructing a peace officer and driving while suspended.
Both men are to appear in Guelph court Jan. 30.
