Teens from four local high schools are invited to enter a video contest with the theme “distracted driving.”
Hosted by Minto, Wellington North and Wellington County Safe Communities along with North for Youth Community Group, the video is an initiative to create awareness about distracted driving.
The focus is on youth sharing their own message about distracted driving with their peers and, as a result, the greater community.
This is a unique opportunity for youth to creatively express their opinions, thoughts, and suggestions around distracted driving.
The contest is open until March 20. Students will compete against peers from their own school and a total of 25 entries per school will be permitted.
Each school will have two prizes: 1st place prize of $150 and 2nd place prize of $100.
Each student who enters a submission is eligible for eight volunteer hours.
