An Erin man faces 10 charges following a “family dispute” here last week during which a gun was fired and a teen injured.
The man is also accused of assault in a previous domestic incident.
On March 24 at about 8pm, Wellington County OPP officers were called to a home on Mountainview Crescent in Erin.
Police say the suspect allegedly threatened family members and discharged a firearm.
“A 16-year-old female sustained minor injuries after being struck by a bullet ricochet,” police stated in a press release.
The suspect fled prior to police arrival and was located and arrested a short time later, police say.
A 58-year-old man from Erin was charged with using a firearm while committing an offence, careless use of firearm, careless storage of a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, impaired driving, assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm with intent, uttering threats and two counts of pointing a firearm.
OPP Constable Marylou Schwindt confirmed the man is also charged with assault in relation to a separate incident involving his spouse on March 15.
The man appeared in court on March 26 and was due back in court for a bail hearing on March 29.
