FERGUS – Police have charged a local teenager in connection with an attack with a weapon that sent a victim to the hospital.
Wellington County OPP officials say that on April 19, just before 7pm, officers responded to a call for an assault with a weapon on St. David Street in Fergus.
“One (person) was rushed to a local hospital after reported being attacked by a youth with an edged weapon,” police stated in a press release.
“Police attended and arrested the attacker. The victim’s injuries were considered non-life threatening.”
A 17-year-old with no fixed address was charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose and theft (under $5,000). The accused was held for bail.
