A local teen has been charged after allegedly robbing a fellow student at gunpoint with what was later discovered to be a pellet gun.
On May 15 Wellington County OPP officers were called to Centre Wellington District High School in Fergus to investigate reports that a student had brought a firearm to the school.
Police say that following an “interaction” between two male students, one of the teens pulled out “a firearm” and robbed the other.
“Members of the Wellington County OPP were later able to locate and seize the suspected firearm and found it to be black pellet gun which resembles a semi-automatic pistol,” police stated in a press release.
A 14-year-old boy from Fergus was charged with robbery using a firearm and using an imitation firearm while committing an offence. He was arrested and held for bail court on May 23.
