Tara Mondou’s lifelong interest in reading books and telling stories has developed into a passion for writing and editing.
As a first time author, she recently published the heart-wrenching true story of her mother’s childhood, in her book Little Girl in the Mirror.
“My mom always told me stories about her childhood,” she said. “When she was a baby, her mother gave her up to her grandmother and left her in Cape Breton for years until she took her back at five years old and brought her to Stratford.
“All her life she shared stories with me, about the evil woman they lived with and how she took away her ability to trust and love her mother.”
Mondou is the editor for Neighbours of West Galt magazine, a local Cambridge publication. She also works as an editor at Meraki House Publishing in Toronto.
Mondou will be appearing at Roxanne’s Reflections in downtown Fergus on March 25 from 11am to 3pm.
