TORONTO – Take the Stress out of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is being offered in an online format this fall to help adults of all ages decrease symptoms of IBS or a stressed stomach that has flared up during COVID19. Diet and stress are the two greatest triggers of IBS symptoms and altered gastrointestinal function.
This program is provided by Kathy Somers of the Stress Management and High Performance Clinic in conjunction with Lindzie O’Reilly, a dietitian at the University of Guelph. Topics will include the common food irritants to avoid, tips for symptom relief, mindful eating, stress management strategies, and the most helpful relaxation techniques to relax the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract.
The five-session online program runs Fridays from 12:30 to 1:30pm, beginning on Oct. 21. Cost is $99.
Registration and payment is at https://selfregulationskills.ca or by contacting Kathy at 519 824-4120, ext. 52662 or e-mailing ksomers@uoguelph.ca.
