GUELPH – “Take the Stress out of I.B.S.” (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is being offered in an on-line format this winter to help adults of all ages decrease symptoms of IBS or stressed stomach that have flared up.
Diet and stress are the two greatest triggers of IBS symptoms and altered gastrointestinal function.
The program is provided by Kathy Somers of the Stress Management and High Performance Clinic in conjunction with Lindzie O’Reilly, a dietitian at the University of Guelph.
Topics will include the common food irritants to avoid, tips for symptom relief, mindful eating, stress management strategies, and the most helpful relaxation techniques.
The five-session program runs Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm, starting March 2. The program fee is $100.
Registration and payment is available online at https://selfregulationskills.ca/ or by contacting Kathy at 519 824-4120, ext. 52662 or e-mailing ksomers@uoguelph.ca.
