GUELPH – The winter storm that blanketed Guelph, Puslinch and Rockwood in a thick layer of snow last Friday night did not stop 250 volunteers from heading out Saturday morning to collect thousands of Christmas trees.

ROCKWOOD – For 52 years, the Rockwood and District Lions Club has served local, national and international communities by creating community spaces, organizing social events and raising funds to support people in need.

GUELPH – The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington’s Trees for Tots fundraiser gives trees a second life while raising funds for important programming. 

ROCKWOOD – Vanessa Ireson’s picture books give children a chance to see their hometown in a different light. 

GUELPH – Wellington County councillors are still looking for clarity on exactly what the province’s decision to reverse its unilateral expansion of some urban boundaries, both here and across the province, means to local municipalities.

GUELPH – The Wellington Catholic District School Board (WCDSB) is hoping to grow to include almost 800 additional pupils within Wellington County. 

WELLINGTON COUNTY – A controversial provincial decision to unilaterally move rural properties into urban boundaries, both here and across the province, will be reversed. At an Oct. 23 press conference, provincial officials announced legislation to that effect will soon be introduced.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – The cause of the fire on Oct. 9 – at a workshop on Highway 7 near Wellington Road 29 – is undetermined, but not considered suspicious.

ROCKWOOD – Drexler Construction Limited is requesting a second two-year extension for a proposed seven-home condominium subdivision in the  urban centre of Rockwood. 

ROCKWOOD – Erin couple David and Karrie Fraser are celebrating a successful first year at their Bunkie Life factory in Rockwood.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Garin Dunton played for Team Ontario this summer, and the team won first place in the U13 National Lacrosse Championship.

BRUCEDALE – Fire fighters with the Guelph Eramosa Fire Department responded to 53 calls between May 1 and July 31.  Most calls were for medical issues.

BRUCEDALE – The township hoped to install five digital signs throughout Guelph/Eramosa, but once they received the price tag, councilors voted to wait until next year, with hopes of finding a more affordable bid then.

GUELPH/ERAMOSA – Council voted unanimously to look into the cost of adding lights to the soccer fields in Rockwood, at the request of Rockwood FC.
