ELORA – Though the winter winds may be blowing, the Elora Farmers Market (EFM) is getting ready for another season of locally produced and made goods.
In preparation, a survey has been launched to learn what patrons do and don’t like about the market.
“Our vendors are thinking past the winter cold and are focused on getting their farms and kitchens ready for our opening in May,” said Karen Mansfield, owner of Majestic Waterloo Buffalo and an EFM board member.
“We want to hear from everyone in our community,” added Rob Mackay, owner of Mackay Farms and another member of the EFM board.
“We want to understand the role the market plays in our community. We want to do everything we can to make the market a regular Saturday morning destination for all families in Centre Wellington.”
The survey closes on March 20 and is found at EloraFarmersMarket.ca.
Respondents can be entered to win $100 in “market bucks.”
The market will start back at Bissell Park in Elora on May 6 and runs Saturdays from 8:30am to 1pm into October. After Thanksgiving through to Christmas, the market moves to the Highland Rugby Club in Fergus.
“We can’t wait to invite the community back for another year of fresh, local food and community,” said Mansfield.
