The staff of TD Canada Trust Mount Forest are thanking the community.
Organizers raised over $2,700 for their Operation Santa Claus, Troops in Afghanistan campaign.
Residents supported the Toonies for Troops Christmas tree with over 100 yellow ribbons on the tree and brought donations of items to the branch, and ate 12 crock pots of chili.
As part of a district of 19 branches of TD Canada Trust, organizers were able to raise over $35,000.
All items donated, and all funds raised will be brought to Wasaga Beach, where the funds will be used to buy items to make up 2,500 Christmas boxes for the troops.
On Nov. 17, the management team of the branches, along with District vice-president Lionel Laflamme, and General Rick Hillier will assemble the boxes making them ready for transport.
