The Superstars Baton Club started off the competition season well at the first 2016 competition in Newmarket on Feb. 6. Approximately 40 athletes attended this competition, Miss Valentine Twirl.
Individual results are as follows:
Mackenzie Fraser (age 9) of Arthur was 1st in novice strut, 4th in basic march, 5th in solo and 3rd in novice valentine pageant.
Alyssa George (age 12) of Fergus was 1st in beginner strut, beginner 3baton, intermediate solo and 2nd in 2baton and won the intermediate valentine pageant.
Hayleigh Homer (age 13) of Fergus was 1st in advanced basic march, 2nd in beginner strut, 5th in beginner 2baton, 6th in intermediate solo and 6th in intermediate valentine pageant.
Skylar Irwin (age 12) of Arthur was 2nd in Novice 2baton, 5th in beginner basic march, 6th in novice solo and 4th in novice valentine pageant.
Paige Johnston (age 8) of Arthur was 1st in beginner strut, 3rd in novice 2baton and won the beginner valentine pageant.
Shayla Logel (age 11) of Elora was 1st in novice solo, 2nd in novice 2baton, 3rd in beginner basic march, 4th in novice strut and 2nd in the novice valentine pageant.
Elsie Post (age 10) of Arthur was 1st in intermediate strut and intermediate 2baton, 2nd in advanced solo, 3rd in beginner 3baton and 2nd in advance valentine pageant.
Lauren Robb (age 16) of Fergus was 1st in beginner strut, beginner 2baton and intermediate solo.
Jayda Saunders (age 6) of Fergus was 2nd in novice solo and beginner basic march and 2nd in novice valentine pageant.
Lainey Saunders (age 9) of Fergus was 4th in novice solo.
Kaitlyn Wagg (age 10) of Arthur was 4th in beginner solo.
Makenzie Worton (age 14) of Fergus was 1st in intermediate solo, 3rd in beginner 2baton, 5th in intermediate strut and 5th in valentine pageant.
The duet team of Homer and Irwin won the beginner duet division and the team of George and Worton won the intermediate duet division.
