Eight members of the Superstars Baton Club competed in Oshawa at the annual CNBTA Provincial Championships on May 2 and 3. Approximately 75 athletes gathered to compete for the provincial cups and Miss Majorette of Ontario pageant.
Alyssa George, 12, of Fergus, was first in open Beginner 2baton, second in Beginner Provincial 2Baton, second in Intermediate Provincial Solo and won the Beginner Provincial X-Strut Championships.
Hayleigh Homer, 12, of Fergus, was first in Basic March, second in open beginner 2baton, second in Beginner Provincial Solo, third in Beginner Provincial 2baton, first in the Novice Provincial X-Strut Championships and third in the Preteen Beginner Miss Majorette of Ontario pageant. Skylar Irwin, 12, of Arthur, was third in basic march and third in Novice Provincial 2Baton.
Paige Johnston, 7, of Arthur, was third in Beginner Provincial Solo and third in the Beginner Miss Majorette of Ontario pageant.
Elsie Post, 9, of Arthur, won the Intermediate Provincial Solo, X-Strut Championship, 2baton Championship and the Juvenile Intermediate Miss Majorette of Ontario pageant.
Lauren Robb, 15, of Fergus, was second in Beginner open 2baton, third in Beginner Provincial Strut and first in the Intermediate 2baton Championship.
Makenzie Worton, 13, of Fergus, was first in beginner open 2baton, first in the Beginner 2baton and Beginner Solo Championships.
The duet team of Homer/Irwin placed second in open duet. The duet team of George/Worton placed first in open duet and second in Beginner Provincial Duet.
The team “Conga” came home the PreTeen Beginner Dance Twirl Team Champions for the second consecutive year – members include: Homer, George, Irwin and Post. The team “Moulin Rouge” placed second – members include: George, Robb and Worton.
The twirlers, who are trained by Krista DiStasi of Fergus, will be training hard for the CNBTA National Championships at the beginning of July in Kitchener.
