PUSLINCH – Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre raised $70,000 at the Celebrate Sunrise! fundraising event held on June 25.
Jeff Tiessen was the guest speaker and emcee.
Tiessen lost both his arms in an electrical accident at age 11.
He presented ribbons to four young riders with disabilities, aged 5 to 7 years, from this year’s musical ride, sharing words of encouragement with these riders.
A 4-minute promotional video was shown, focusing on young adults with special needs from Sunrise’s Life Skills program.
Collectively, the live and silent auctions cleared close to $70,000.
These funds are greatly appreciated and will support the many Sunrise programs that have been empowering children and adults with special needs for the past 40 years.
Sunrise is now offering eight weeks of completely inclusive Day Camps in July and August, where campers enjoy swimming, archery, a low-ropes course, nature trails …. and of course, daily interaction with the many Sunrise horses.
The Sunrise Therapy/Memorial Ceremony is on Sept. 24.
