Sunrise seeking donations to feed horses

PUSLINCH, ONTARIO – Sunrise Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre is suffering during COVID-19 and is asking the public for donations to help feed the horses.

The riding and learning centre ceased operations just before March break and there’s a big question mark as to when it can resume operations.

“Our program participants, for whom the horses have become a huge part of their lives, have lost all their therapies – OT, PT, speech language, mental health counselling, aquafit – but not connecting with their therapy horse is proving the most challenging,” states a press release from the organization.

“We want to be ready to welcome them back to this empowering program when we return to normal living once again.”

The horses at Sunrise receive exemplary care and it is the horses’ physical and mental well-being that is a priority right now, the release states. They must be fed, exercised and trained – and all this must be paid for, even if funding is not flowing.

The organization is asking for financial support to keep the horses happy and healthy until it can open its doors again.
