On Oct. 31, a group of students from the Norwell Secondary School’s Interact Club will be canvassing Harriston and Drayton for non-perishable food items to help restock local food banks.
In true Halloween fashion, they’ll be doing it in costume, with donations going to food banks in north Wellington.
Interact is a student-run initiative focused on creating awareness for social and humanitarian issues, and raising funds for charity groups and projects, both locally and globally.
Interact is only in its second year at Norwell, but has already become one of the largest clubs available for students. Its association with Rotary International, and specifically the Clifford and Drayton branches of Rotary, provides more opportunities and a larger network of resources to better serve the community.
In addition to the Halloween food drive, Interact is holding a winter coat and clothing drive. Donation boxes will be located in Clifford, Harriston, Palmerston and Drayton, as well as at Norwell. Any well-kept winter apparel would be greatly appreciated.
And look for Interact members this Halloween.
