Strawmania is coming to this year’s Grand Valley Fall Fair on Sept. 23 to 25.
“Tired of expensive, broken old rides that nobody really likes, run by bored operators that nobody knows?” asks the fair website.
“Weary of paying big ticket prices for little thrill rides – even for small kids? We are too. And they cost a fortune to bring to town.”
Instead the fair will feature family fun for all ages with attractions made completely of straw.
Visitors can look forward to a massive climbing pyramid, maze, traditional games, obstacle courses, fishing pond, pumpkin bowling alley and more.
Fairgoers will even be able to partake in a giant human-sized group foosball game.
To participate in the Strawmania activities children will need to purchase a $10 wristband which is good for an entire day of fun.
“It’s good ‘old-fashioned’ fall fair fun, with local family farms supporting with straw bales sourced from the community,” the website states.
“Step back in time to a real and authentic village of straw amusements to interact with and to enjoy family photographs.”
This year’s three-day fall fair will celebrate the local community with the theme “butterflies and honeybees.”
Visitors from all over the Headwaters area and GTA are expected to attend this year, the fair website states.
Over the next three years the Grand Valley Agricultural Society board is working to create the most authentic fall fair experience in the region.
A weekend pass is available from Scotiabank, Orangeville locations, for $15 per adult.
