PUSLINCH – There was more smoke than damage at a fire that was reported around 1:45pm on May 6.
And that’s a good thing, said Fire Chief Jamie MacNeil in a phone interview.
The homeowner at a residence on Wellington Road 34 in Puslinch called 911 to report a stove fire.
MacNeil said firefighters arrived and cleared the scene in about 25 minutes.
“They contained it to the stove and got it knocked down pretty quickly,” MacNeil said.
The Rockwood detachment was called to assist but was turned back once the size and extent of the fire had been assessed.
MacNeil said he expected the homeowner would be able to return to the residence later that day.
