ARTHUR – While some sports organizations have decided when their upcoming season will begin, the Federation of Broomball Associations of Ontario (FBAO) is not one of them.
In a letter from FBAO President Lesley Squibb on Aug. 20, the organization stated it has postponed any official start date for the 2020-21 season.
“Decisions of this magnitude are not to be made lightly, and the health and wellbeing of our members are of the utmost importance to us,” wrote Squibb.
“Until a return to play date is announced, no broomball activities within our province will be sanctioned.”
Squibb cited the “great uncertainty of government regulations and public health requirements going forward” as part of the reason to delay starting the season.
No decision about the upcoming season has been made at this time.
“If it is deemed safe to have a season, the FBAO will communicate this with its members as soon as possible.”
