Spooky good time at James McQueen Halloween dance

It was a full house of spooky, funny, and creatively costumed kids dancing up a storm at the annual James McQueen Halloween Dance on Oct. 25.

In the midst of all the fun, the Sschool council raised over $850 for school activities.

“This event is a hit every year,” stated Julia Leary, school council co-chair. “We are so fortunate to be part of a terrific school community that supports activities for our students.”

Prizes were awarded for the best costumes of the night and recognition went to Emmett Leary, with his house creation, and Nora Aitken as Cruella Deville.

“Thank you to Mark Haynes for donating his time, equipment, expertise and enthusiasm as DJ,” stated Sarah Joyes, school council co-chair.

“Thank you to Mrs. Arnott, Mr. Lacey and the rest of the James McQueen staff for all of their help.  Thanks also to parents who provided goodies for the bake table and volunteered their time at the event.”

The James McQueen school council is a volunteer board of parents and staff committed to enhancing the school experience and sense of community for children by organizing fun and educational events and fundraising.
