On the heels of the Aug. 24 decision of Centre Wellington council to seek a ministry meeting on water supply protection, the municipality is holding a special committee of the whole meeting on Sept. 11.
The Friday morning is set aside specifically to look at the water taking issue.
Staff from Grand River Conservation Authority and perhaps Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change and in-house staff will be educating councillors on the water taking process and strategies for long term water protection.
The issue is on council’s radar as a result of Nestlé’s interest in Middlebrook Water as a secondary water source.
While the meeting is open to the public – no delegations will be received and no decisions made.
