Twenty teams, two Days! Racers are ready to support the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. Guelph.
Teams of the Southern Ontario Amazing Race (SOAR) are getting ready to rise to the challenges ahead taking place June 4 to 5.
Similar to the network television show, the 2016 SOAR will challenge twenty teams of two to numerous physical and mental challenges throughout Southern Ontario and beyond.
The first challenge for SOAR teams is to raise funds for the Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington.
So far the teams have raised over $30,000 online. The funds raised will help children in need have the support they need to reach their full potential, but that’s not all.
With each donation, teams will have a competitive advantage while racing, providing them with the opportunity to purchase shortcuts, yields and other life lines.
The Southern Ontario Amazing Racers are participating for many reasons.
Each racer has a story on Therace.ca/teams. Help support a team’s quest to victory, in the challenges ahead on race day but also know that contributions will help a child in need.
The Children’s Foundation of Guelph and Wellington is dedicated to insuring the development of young minds in our community by providing financial assistance for Sports and recreation, breakfast, lunch and snack programs and scholarships.
Children’s Foundation officials invite the public to cheer on the racers as they begin their journey across Southern Ontario.
The starting line will be at Eramosa River Park on June 4.
Teams will gather around 8am and the race officially starts at 8:30am. To follow race updates, follow SOAmazingRace on your Twitter and Instagram accounts or search for #SOARace2016.
