Sounds of Christmas supporting KidsAbility

After a hugely successful run in its inaugural year, Guse Productions (in association with Knox Waterloo) is presenting The Sounds of Christmas 2014.

Benefitting KidsAbility, this multi-generational, multi-performer journey features many different styles of Christmas music from traditional favourites to some new Christmas treasures to country to rock ’n’ roll to gospel.

The program will include harmony singing, toe-tapping instrumental and various styles of dance. This show has something for everyone in the family, officials say.

The Sounds of Christmas 2014 includes professional performers Nicole Guse, Jim Guse, Shane Guse, Michelle Black-Tracz, Stephanie Roth, Kraig Waye, Greg Weber and Devan Ballagh.

The production also features a five-piece professional band (consisting of piano, drums, bass, guitar, steel guitar, banjo, fiddle and mandolin), step dancing and fiddling, a young people’s chorus and young dancers from the Moree School of Dance. By combining professional adults with multi-aged children interested in the arts, the show gives kids a wonderful opportunity to be a part of a professional production while supporting the local community.

As producer and director Nicole Guse states, “My son, Joshua, attended KidsAbility for both speech and occupational therapy from the time he was 18 months old until he finished junior kindergarten at the KidsAbility school at age 5. It was my dream to give back to KidsAbility on a grander scale, while at the same time bringing the community together to enjoy the season.”

Last year, Guse raised over $20,000 for KidsAbility. This year, she is hoping for even greater support from the community.

“This is a show that both children and adults can enjoy – and every ticket sold helps children and youth with special needs. I can’t think of a better way to enjoy the holiday season and bring hope to local kids.”
