ABOYNE – The Wellington County Museum and Archives is set to welcome Sonic Sensation – a travelling exhibition from the Sciencenter in Ithaca, New York.
“Sonic Sensation explores the science of sound through interactive activities geared towards school-aged children and their families,” said curator Hailey Johnston.
“This is a hands-on experience that encourages children to learn while having fun and making some noise!”
Exhibit visitors can:
– test their lung power in the Scream Chamber;
– conduct an orchestra using their body and motion-capture technology;
– create sound-tracks to silent film clips;
– learn about the anatomy and physics of how we hear, and how to protect our hearing; and
– explore decibels, amplitude, pitch, and sound waves.
Sonic Sensation is on display at the Wellington County Museum and Archives from June 17 until September 10. Visit www.wellington.ca/museum for more details.
The Wellington County Museum and Archives is located at 0536 Wellington Road 18 between Fergus and Elora.
