The Fergus Horticultural Society holds its annual Best Bloomin’ Plant Sale on May 12 at the stone house next to the Sportsplex on Belsyde Avenue here. This year’s sale runs 8 to 11am.
The sale is always a hit because of the extensive variety of local perennials. Plants are selected from the society’s gardens as well and members’ personal collections.
Freshly potted perennials are conditioned to suit local weather conditions. Many are large specimens. The sale will have rare, old favourites, newer introductions, herbs, ground covers and shade dwellers. Members will assist with plant and garden questions.
Proceeds support community beautification projects.
The society sponsors 23 local gardens and various other sites throughout the town.
The society will also have memberships available which entitles shoppers to a 10% discount at selected nurseries.
