The Harriston and District Horticultural Society’s recent meeting was all about house plants.
Frank Sluys from Listowel Greenhouses gave a descriptive message about various plants. Most houseplants do not need water more than once a week, he explained.
Sluys donated the plants he brought, along with some hyacinth bulbs, as door prizes.
Al White discussed the community gardens which are to be raised gardens located in the former Harriston tennis courts. He is also looking for volunteers to help frame the gardens.
Linda Campbell reported on the garden festival, which is fast approaching. It will be held June 7 at the arena pavilion.
Anyone who is able to volunteer some of their time is asked to contact Campbell at 519-338-3012.
