On Jan. 13 at about 10:40pm Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Watson Road South here.
Police say the owners of a local house returned to find an occupied vehicle in their driveway.
“After a short conversation with the male driver and female passenger, the vehicle fled south on Watson Road,” states an OPP press release.
Police say the vehicle was reportedly stolen out of Toronto and as officers were responding to this incident they were informed the vehicle left the roadway on an “S” bends on Watson Road and struck a tree.
Officers arrived to find both occupants had fled on foot. With assistance of officers and a canine unit from Guelph Police Service, police located the suspects, as well as an imitation semi-automatic firearm.
Dale Anthony Williams, 32, of Brampton, and Sarah Noorzay, 21, of Mississauga, were charged with:
– possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000;
– possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose;
– obstructing a peace officer;
– public mischief;
– possession of cocaine;
– possession of marijuana;
– possession of a stolen credit card;
– possession of break-in instruments; and
– possession of a prohibited device.
Williams has additionally been charged with driving while suspended and two counts of failing to comply with a recognizance.
Both were held for a bail hearing in Guelph court.
