A site plan application put forward by Mark Wilson’s Better Used Cars was approved by Guelph-Eramosa township at their meeting Oct. 6.
The business will be located at 5055 Whitelaw Road on the northeast corner of Whitelaw Road and Wellington Road 124. The 3.5 hectare development will include a two-storey car dealership, car wash, over 500 parking spaces, a domestic sewage treatment area and storm water management facility. The access driveway will be off Whitelaw Road.
Councillor Corey Woods wanted to know if there were plans for a large sign near the property’s entrance.
“If there’s going to be a 20-foot sign out there I want to know. Coming around that corner it’s hard to see anyways so you wouldn’t want to complicate it with a big sign,” he said.
Mark Wilson representatives assured council signage would be limited to the storefront.
Council approved the site plan with no further discussion.
