KENILWORTH – After 10 years, the Wellington North Showcase is taking a breather.
The annual showcase highlights local businesses within Wellington North and the surrounding communities.
At the Jan 27 Wellington North council meeting, economic development officer Dale Small stated one of the programs in a northern Wellington County partnership initiative includes targeted marketing opportunities.
“Part of that includes creating a Northern Wellington brand,” he said.
“I hate to say this to my friends in Minto, but they are very good at social media … we are okay … but I think we’ll get better as we move forward on local partnerships,” Small added.
He said “after 10 years, the showcase has decided to take a time-out and as a result there will be no show in 2020.”
However, Small added “because of our partnerships, I am excited and looking forward to bringing it back in 2021 with a North Wellington focus.”
Small also said he believes there could be more opportunities to work with the community radio station in Mount Forest.
