Farm Credit Canada (FCC) and 4-H Canada have announced the Shout Out for Ag! video competition will be held for a second year.
Feeding off of the success of the first Shout Out for Ag! competition last year, FCC made the announcement during the National 4-H Members Conference on Nov. 7.
Last year, 4-H members and clubs rose to the challenge for the first-ever contest and posted videos that explained why they were passionate about Canadian agriculture.
Almost $20,000 in prize money was awarded to provincial winners and the national winner.
The 2014 competition is back with five categories and $60,000 in prize money, in which 4-H clubs across Canada may apply. Categories include:
– Leadership in agriculture is important because … ;
– We joined 4-H because… ;
– We want to pursue a career in agriculture because … ;
– What is the future of science and technology in agriculture?; and
– What can every Canadian do to sustain feeding the planet?
Top entries from each category and province will be declared winners and advance onto national finals. Complete contest rules and details will be posted on the 4-H Canada website. The 2014 edition of Shout Out for Ag! opens Jan. 1, 2014 and will close on Feb. 15. 2014.
