The Fergus/Elora Chapter of the Canadian Motorcycle Cruisers (CMC) hosted the 9th Anniversary National Brunch in Elora on Nov. 8 with over 200 members in attendance.
President Bruce Cutler of the Elora Legion, challenged CMC members attending to match his donation of $190 and he would have his head and moustache shaved – $600 was raised in total.
Other Chapters of the CMC came forward at different times to donate their monies to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
In total $10,525 was presented to Ann Boehm, regional development specialist of the Children’s Wish Foundation. Boehm was so moved it brought her to tears.
The CMC is Canada’s premier family-friendly social riding club. There are 99 chapters across Canada. Throughout the year various chapters have fundraisers with the proceeds donated at the annual brunch to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
For those who noticed an influx of motorcycles and club members at the weekly meet-and-greet on Thursday evenings at the Dairy Queen in Fergus in the summer, and during the winter months at Tim Horton’s in Elora, an open invitation is extended as members would love to talk about the local chapter.
